After an eventful year as Capital of Culture, the grand finale will take place on 29 and 30 November 2025. Throughout the final weekend, you can experience numerous events and activities in the Capital of Culture region. One of them is the light installation ‘Ganzfeld – Beyond Horizons 2025’ in Oelsnitz/Erzgebirge, a special highlight on the PURPLE PATH art and sculpture trail.
Chemnitz will also ring in the Advent season on Saturday, 29 November 2025, with the Christmas workshop at Maker Advent, the European Mountain Parade and Christmas carol singing. The following additional transport services will take you to the programme events:
Additional services on Saturday, 29 November 2025
- RB 30: one additional night service to Freiberg and one to Zwickau at 00:30 from Chemnitz Central Station
Additional services on Saturday, 29 November 2025 and Sunday, 30 November 2025
- PlusBus 207 & 210: Additional and extra services between Chemnitz – Marienberg – Olbernhau (line 207) and between Chemnitz and Annaberg-Buchholz (line 210) provide hourly services
- PlusBus 526: between Chemnitz and Limbach-Oberfrohna, there is an hourly service between 10:00 and 20:00
- C11: additional journeys between Chemnitz and Stollberg as part of the Advent service
- C14:Additional services as part of the Advent transport service on Saturday afternoon and all day on Sunday between Chemnitz Technopark and Thalheim
- RB 81: Increased frequency to hourly service between Chemnitz and Olbernhau
- RE 3: additional traction reinforcement
