. Whether you are travelling alone or with others, the Capital of Culture Ticket is for you: it can be bought as an individual ticket or as a group ticket.
For 25 euros, solo travellers can travel around the Capital of Culture 2025 for three days. For groups of up to five people, the Capital of Culture Ticket costs just 50 euros.
Yes, you can purchase your ticket when you travel and start travelling immediately. Buy on VMS buses and trams or digitally via the app at any time. You can also buy your ticket in advance from ticket machines and from Capital of Culture Ticket sales points.

The Capital of Culture Region 2025 covers 38 towns and municipalities in Central Saxony, the Zwickau region and the Ore Mountains (Erzgebirge), as well as the city of Chemnitz. Our Capital of Culture Ticket is valid in all of these areas: the VMS network covers all of them, and you can use any bus, tram or train on our network and switch between them.
The Capital of Culture Ticket is valid for three consecutive days, giving you plenty of time to discover the many cultural attractions on offer. The ticket is valid until 4am on the day following the last day of validity.
No, the Capital of Culture Ticket is designed for use on three consecutive days. You cannot use the ticket on individual, non-consecutive days.
The Capital of Culture Ticket is valid for three consecutive days. If you do not use it one day, the ticket remains valid for the subsequent days. However, it will not be possible to extend or refund your ticket.
Yes, if you are travelling with friends or as a family, you can take advantage of our group ticket. Up to five people can use the ticket for three consecutive days for just 50 euros.
No, the Capital of Culture Ticket is not valid for journeys on the Drahtseilbahn Augustusburg (Augustusburg Cable Railway) or the Fichtelbergbahn railway (Cranzahl–Kurort Oberwiesenthal).
